Tru Davies (Eliza Dushku) is just your average medical student, until she finds out that she has to work in a morgue, doing the graveyard shift. When she's on duty, a corpse comes into the morgue and asks her for her help. The day resets and she must race against time to save the woman's life.

With the help of her dysfunctional brother Harrision (Shawn Reeves), and boss Davis (Zach Galifianakis), Tru has one mission in life: to prevent the death of others. That is, until Tru runs into seemingly harmless Jack Harper (Jason Priestly), who turns out to have the exact opposite ability to her - he's supposed to stop her from saving the victim's life.
